DSAG Feedback on the new SAP Fiori Pricing

No additional licence costs for SAP Fiori

Walldorf, 3.6.2014

As announced at SAPPHIRE in Orlando today, SAP Fiori and SAP Screen Personas will be offered to SAP Customers within licensed SAP software. SAP thus met the requirements of the German-speaking SAP User Group (DSAG e. V.), which represents 2,900 companies with more than 50,000 registered individuals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. According to former DSAG statements, the shipment of SAP Fiori and SAP Screen Personas should be included in the annual maintenance fees. This means, they must be available for customers with SAP maintenance without any license costs.

Why is this so? On one hand SAP Fiori is a technical adjustment to provide customers with a device-independent user interface. On the other hand SAP Fiori and SAP Screen Personas create, simple user-friendly surfaces that have become necessary due to the changed user behavior.

Andreas Oczko, DSAG Board Member Operations / Service & Support, is pleased with the result: "SAP has recognized that attractive surfaces are an important trend among users and this must be served within maintenance expenditures. Now SAP customers can evaluate whether SAP Fiori and Screen Personas are suitable for their business or not, without having to take into consideration additional licensing costs. "

SAP Fiori provides a standardized interface, which creates the same surface on all devices. SAP Screen Personas helps to make SAP GUI screens more usable and visually more appealing.

It should be noted that for SAP Fiori and SAP Screen Personas, current release versions of SAP software as well as state-of-the-art devices are needed
